Pulisic at AC Milan? The ideal destination where he can silence the critics!

Christian Pulisic will not remember his Chelsea engagement in the best of terms. He has struggled with injuries in England, hasn’t made a proper impact in a few years and apart from a glimpse of form during the lockout, hasn’t shown anything proper. Now he’ll probably get a chance for a fresh start at AC Milan. Why is the Italian giant the ideal destination for the American winger?

It is a huge loss for the London club from a financial point of view. Pulisic was brought in by Chelsea from Dortmund for £58 million and the Blues should collect €20 million for his sale, which is certainly not a sum close to the former.

It certainly didn’t help that Lyon offered more money for the winger than the Italian club, however Pulisic himself turned it down and chose Milan as his destination to restart his career.

AC Milan are taking a risk with this investment in the American player, given his injuries and unstable form in recent years.

On the other hand, a career restart here can give Pulisic a boost, like AS Roma star Tammy Abraham, who also left Chelsea for Italy.

Getting into the lineup might not be that difficult, with Rafael Leao being the only really stellar competitor. He feels at home in Milan and recently extended his contract. He’s also a fan favourite who can’t imagine his team without him.

So there is a chance that Milan coach Pioli will try Pulisic at number ten or in the centre of the attack. After all, Brahim Díaz has been withdrawn by Real Madrid on loan and last year’s signing Charles de Ketelaere had a horrific debut season in Italy, and there is speculation about his departure.

Will a new Christian Pulisic be born in Milan or will his career take an even bigger plunge? We will be able to answer this question in a year’s time, until then we can only speculate.
