It has been speculated for some time, but now it should be clear that Slavia will be looking for a new left-back. David Jurásek has been snapped up by Portuguese Benfica Lisbon, who will pay almost CZK 300 million for the young defender.

After the spring season it was clear that Jurásek would be in great demand in the summer. The young left back, who already belongs to the senior Czech national team, is one of the most valuable players in the world at his position and age.

The wait was on to see who would win this battle, and now it should be clear. That team will be Benfica Lisbon, who have lost a stalwart in Alejandro Grimaldo to Leverkusen.

According to Portuguese CNN, the transfer fee is expected to be between 12 and 13 million euros, which translates to between 287 and 311 million crowns. But as it happens, more money could be hidden in bonuses.

Of course, the exact deal is not public, but there should be a percentage of the next transfer included in the transfer fee, as Slavia are well aware that they can earn perhaps even more money then.

Benfica were also interested in Milos Kerkez, however his team AZ Alkmaar were not very amenable to the sale. In the end it came down to Jurásek and the 22-year-old back should join the team as soon as possible.

First he will have a medical examination and if everything goes well, he will be ready for the start of the summer training camp. Mihailo Ristic will be his competition.

This name is quite familiar to the fans of the Czech league, Ristic was a guest at Sparta in his time, but he didn’t get many opportunities there and over time he showed Sparta what a mistake they made.
