LPL: Who will win the regular season? The tug of war between JDG and Bilibili Gaming continues

The Chinese LPL enters its final third before the playoffs. While the top ten is slowly becoming clearer, there is a huge battle for first place.

So far, JDG and Bilibili Gaming have been operating in the LPL as teams that have not stopped since their clash in the LPL and MSI finals. The fight for the top spot of the regular season is marked by a fierce tug of war to see who can put up a better and more dominant performance.

Bilibili Gaming clearly responded to JDG’s comfortable win against FunPlus Phoenix with an unequivocal win over the improving TOP Esports. Thanks to the extra game BLG played, they are currently in first place.

For the context with the international power measurement, it’s a clear message so far. If both teams keep up this lethal pace, we can expect the first Chinese final in Worlds history.

Both teams really show how far Chinese League of Legends has progressed over the years. Gone are the days when one team, rarely two, threatened Korean hegemony. But let’s not be satisfied with just these two teams.

There will be four teams at Worlds. In particular, the performances of TOP Esports and LNG give China another strong trump card with which to try and weaken its Korean rivals.

However, the playoffs will show real form to the fullest and we can expect another performance surge along the lines of BLG. Indeed, before the Worlds, both regions will have the Asian Games and a sort of appetizer of what we can expect.

A possible China win could make the LPL teams’ stocks even better. After all, the last Worlds in Korea marked the end of the wait and the winning of the first world title for the Chinese region. Will the same scenario repeat itself this year?
