Just moments away and it will be 20 years since the season that made history began. Arsenal dominated the English Premier League in the 2003/04 season in an unprecedented and unrepeatable fashion. To mark the anniversary, the club plans to unveil a statue outside the stadium of the man who was instrumental in making it happen.

Only one team in England has managed to win the Premier League without losing a season. That was Arsenal in the 2003/04 season. The Gunners scored 90 points then, while second-placed Chelsea picked up 79 points and seven defeats.

What Arsenal didn’t lose in losses then, they lost in draws. They picked up 12 in that legendary season. Only four clubs had more one-point results. But the most important thing has been achieved. Winning the league title.

Arsene Wenger had a fantastic squad at his disposal at the time. However, although we have seen at least as good a squad in the Premier League, to repeat a similar feat seems unrealistic.

Stars like Thierry Henry, Robert Pirés, Dennis Bergkamp and Jens Lehmann all featured under the French strategist in a season that made history. The list would not be short.

As it will soon be 20 years since the start of this season, the English club decided to honour the main architect of the success, according to The Athletic. Wenger should see his own statue outside the Emirates Stadium.

The completed statue should first be unveiled digitally so that the entire football world can watch the presentation. That is exactly what Wenger deserves for his services too. After all, he led Arsenal for 22 long years.

Wenger himself will then attend the special ceremony, accompanied by his family, friends and players from that successful season.
