Sad news, the showman and last year’s Wimbledon finalist will not play in London this year. Kyrgios is suffering from a wrist injury
It’s his favorite tournament. Nick Kyrgios has made no secret of the fact that he would prefer to play only on grass. That’s why it’s very sad news for him when he had to announce that he won’t be attending this year’s Wimbledon due to injury.

As soon as Wimbledon comes around, a lot of eyes are on Nick Kyrgios. On grass, he is one of the best players on the rankings and if he has a day and his head is working as it should, he can beat anyone.
The May off helps him to do that, as Kyrgios literally hates clay and often distorts the French Open. He didn’t play in Paris this year either, this time due to injury.
He wanted to make it to Wimbledon, but he didn’t. Expectations were huge, Kyrgios reached the final at the All-England Club last year and played some amazing tennis.
But the day before his first match, he announced the sad news. He won’t play David Goffin, he had to withdraw due to a wrist injury.
“Hello everyone. I am very sorry to withdraw from Wimbledon this year. I did everything I could to be ready after the surgery and to be able to play on the Wimbledon courts again. My wrist was hurting during my comeback week in Mallorca. As a precautionary measure, I had an examination which again showed a torn ligament. I tried to do everything I could to play and I’m disappointed I didn’t make it to Wimbledon. I will be back and as always I appreciate the support of all my fans,” Kyrgios said on Sunday night.
The Australian tennis player didn’t miss much in 2023. After an operation in January, he only showed up a few weeks ago in Stuttgart, where he lost in the first round, and then left Mallorca, where the aforementioned wrist problem flared up.
