LCK: The BRION finally got the job done against the world champions. Kwandong Freecs avert crisis in wild series

BRION has been playing unusually disparate games so far in the summer split. The team is able to play decently against the favourites and even win against some of them (Dplus KIA). However, once a team more balanced on paper comes in, the team loses well-played games unnecessarily. In the context of BRION’s form, this is such a shame.
This series against DRX was also viewed with some concern. DRX managed to come back after a horrible start and get two wins in quick succession. Thus, the team was in the position of a slight favorite before the duel with BRION.
However, “The Power of Friendship” managed to take the series for themselves before the upcoming double-header with KT Rolster next week. Umti drew Skarner against an opponent that would have made LCS commentator Captain Flowers very happy.
DRX wasn’t helped by the stabilization of the botline, and the team lacked some precision and discretion in moments of crisis. An important victory over the floundering world champions and leveling the table thus gives BRION even more hope to attack the sixth place guaranteeing the first round of the playoffs.
Kwandong Freecs are back on a winning streak and still within striking distance of the elite four
The Kwandong players solved a similar problem. After a solid start, they began to lose their breath. Thus, on the surface, the series had no favourite against Liiv Sandbox. Sandbox definitely did not start the summer optimally and the hopefully assembled team is also looking for a way to better results.
Still, Kwandong managed to outplay their opponent. The second game of the series in particular was a bloodbath by Korean standards. The half-hour wilderness, which ended with 54 kills, showed that the team has inner strength.
A 2-0 clean sweep, thus giving Kwandong an even balance at 4-4 and an optimal position to threaten the teams in the elite four – Hanwhu Life, T1 and Dplus KIA in particular. Thus, with the end of the regular season approaching, any gains against these rivals will be worth a lot.
