Amanda Ribas vs. Tracy Cortez. This was supposed to be a fight between two elite beauties at an unranked UFC event in early December. Fans were looking forward to their fight, it was supposed to be an attractive spectacle from many angles.
Unfortunately, the duel never happened. In fact, Cortez was unable to make the fight and for several days there was only speculation as to why this was the case. However, a few days after the tournament she commented on the situation.
She admitted to mental problems, but promised to return. She did not indicate when that might be. “I’ve never been one to give up. I will come back strong, much stronger than I ever was,” she expressed on Instagram.
“I’m a warrior. I’ve been fighting my career and my life my whole life. This is just another phase of my life that I will come out victorious. I’m going through the storm with my head held high,” she added.
Cortez also subsequently admitted that she was mentally broken by the training camp in preparation for her fight with Ribas. However, she believes that the toll this part of her career takes on anyone involved in combat sports. She puts herself first and that is why she is taking the time to pull herself together.
She is now said to be fine and still keeping in shape, which she showed to fans on social media. She has shown a perfect figure and lured fans for her comeback.
It’s worth noting that Cortez currently has a perfect 10-1 record, losing only one of her fights. And that was her first professional one. Since then, she’s only been winning and is currently ranked 13th in the UFC’s flyweight division.
Moreover, at 29 years old, the attractive fighter still has her best years ahead of her and it is not out of the question that she could eventually break through to the very top of the UFC.
