Paul Pogba returned to Juventus last summer but hasn’t played a single minute since. The club is running out of patience with him and the possibility of terminating his contract is in play. Amove to the MLS is also a possibility.
A big question mark hangs over the French footballer’s future at Juventus. Pogba returned to Italy six years after leaving for Manchester United for £100 million, but has not played a single game in over six months.
There is great dissatisfaction at the club with his attitude. Pogba initially refused to have surgery on his injured knee, which significantly increased the length of his treatment.
Fans, in turn, do not like his social media appearances instead of focusing on trying to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
At the moment, Pogba looks more like an influencer than a footballer and fans are tired of waiting for his return. There is a perception that he thinks more about himself than the good of the club, which was proven during his injury treatment.
He refused to undergo surgery because he felt it would reduce his chances of making it to the World Cup. In the end, he underwent it but lost the trust of his fans and the club’s management.
Terminating his contract could be a very costly affair for Juventus and probably impossible at this point. Both parties would have to come to an agreement and that would only happen if Pogba finds a club that can meet his salary expectations.
The relationship between the club and the player himself is not ideal. There is a belief at the club that Pogba has disturbed the harmony in the dressing room.
Considering the investment Juventus made in his arrival, it will be a huge relief for the club’s coffers to find a way to part with Pogba. Despite coming in as a free agent, his signing came out to be worth £31 million, and that was through bonuses for the agent and the player himself.
The French midfielder also receives a salary of £7 million a year.
