Real Madrid must recover from a big shock. They lost to Mallorca, who beat them 1-0 at home thanks to an own goal by Nacho Fernandez. However, there were some interesting moments in the match. Vinicius, the provocateur, knows all about it.
Vinicius may be a great footballer, but his provocations or theatrical falls could write a book about his opponents. And there might even be more. The Mallorca players know it, especially captain Antonio Raillo.
Raillo has repeatedly spoken negatively about the Brazilian technician. Most recently a few days before the game, when he said he would follow the example of Luka Modric or Karim Benzema for his children, but never Vinicius.
After all, the Brazilian also showed his worth in Sunday’s duel with Mallorca. He was often angry, looked wronged and after the end of the first half he made his way to the tunnel to the dressing rooms, clearly pointing at the Real Madrid emblem and letting all the home fans know which club was bigger.
But Mallorca were ahead in the match and even won the game. Moreover, it was the aforementioned Raillo who made an interesting gesture in the second half when he tried to get Vinicius to kiss the Mallorca club logo.
Of course, the Brazilian didn’t do that, but we certainly haven’t seen many similar moments in football.
While the fans of the home team duly enjoyed the whole moment, Real Madrid supporters don’t understand that Raillo got away with the whole situation. They say he deserved at least a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour.
In any case, the loss at Mallorca was a big embarrassment for Real Madrid. They are five points behind Barcelona and if the Catalans beat Sevilla tonight, they will increase their lead.
