West Ham United are struggling in the current season, languishing in 18th position in the league table and fighting for salvation. The English striker Danny Ings, who arrives from Aston Villa, will help them to stay in the Premier League.
The 30-year-old Ings is a former England international, for whom he made three appearances and scored one goal. In the current Premier League season, he has appeared in 18 matches and scored six goals. In total, he has made 68 appearances in the English top flight.
Ings was sent to adult football by Bournemouth, but he left a distinctive mark at Burnley, for whom he kicked their promotion to the Premier League. After doing well in the Premier League, he attracted interest from Liverpool, to whom he subsequently transferred.
However, there was a big disappointment for the Reds as Ings was injured several times and managed to play only 14 league games at Anfield Road in 3 seasons.
He became a feared cannonballer again after his transfer to Southampton, where he scored an impressive 41 goals in three seasons. He was thus scouted by Aston Villa, where although he was not as productive as he was with the Saints, he was still part of the starting line-up.
He comes to West Ham to help with the goal scoring. This is currently a big weakness of David Moyes’ charges. The Hammers’ top scorers are Said Benrahma and Gianluca Scamacca, who have scored just three goals.
Even Michail Antonio, who is one of the best scorers in the club’s history, is not doing well. The Czechs in West Ham’s squad, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, have come under fire from critics recently.
According to Sky Sports, Ings is set to move to the London Stadium for £15 million (equivalent to 410 million crowns).
