Škriniar on his way to Paris? That’s a question we will probably know the answer to in the coming weeks. However, the French very well-known newspaper L’Equipe has come out in the last hours with the information that the Slovakian stopper has rejected all offers from Inter to extend his contract.
PSG have long been seeking the services of Škriniar, and the player himself has reportedly agreed to a potential summer transfer.
The 27-year-old Inter Milan defender was already linked with the French giant last summer, when he was one of Luis Campos’ top priorities. However, the Italian outfit refused to sell him then, for a pretty solid €55 million.
The Slovakian international’s contract at Inter expires at the end of June this year. And as we wrote above, Škriniar shows no interest in extending it.
So in this case, it seems that it is not a question of if, but rather when. Whether Škriniar will leave Inter in the summer, as a free agent, or already in the January transfer window. Moreover, PSG is ready to send €15 million to Milan.
Škriniar played Serie A for the first time in 2016
The Slovakian stopper started his football career at Žilina, from where he transferred to Sampdoria Genoa at the end of January 2016.
And it was here that Škriniar notched up a bunch of great performances. He played 38 games for Genoa, but did not score a goal or an assist. In early July 2017, he transferred from Sampdoria to Inter, who paid €34 million for him.
He played 241 games for the Milan giant. And during that time he scored 11 goals and added 5 assists. In the 2020/21 season, he won the Scudetto with Inter, also celebrated the Coppa Italia once and the Italian Super Cup twice.
