Old friends are not forgotten. And Marcelo knows that. The legendary Brazilian defender is currently at Olympiakos and remembered his best footballing friend Cristiano Ronaldo, who is at the most difficult stage of his career.

Together, they had the greatest moments. From 2009 until 2018 they catered the left side of Real Madrid, Marcelo at full-back, Cristiano on the wing.

Together they dominated the Champions League four times, plus countless other titles. One is taken as one of the best footballers of all time, the other as arguably the best left-back in history.

But apart from their footballing excellence, Ronaldo and Marcelo also shared a great friendship. The Portuguese phenomenon has often mentioned publicly that Marcelo is his best friend in the Real cabinet.

Their footballing paths have parted some time ago, but they remain friends. On the internet, they both shared how they visit each other in the off-season, now Marcelo remembered his partner even during a match.

In Wednesday’s Greek Cup match, Marcelo scored to send Olympiakos into a 2-1 lead. And he celebrated in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo, the famous “Siu” jump.

Marcelo himself later tagged Ronaldo on Twitter and Instagram while sharing a photo of the celebration.

Cristiano recently transferred to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasser. However, he is still waiting for his debut due to a two-match ban from the Premier League.
