Is there going to be a big swap? Vlahovic could join Arsenal, coach Allegri dreams of an English national team mainstay
Dusan Vlahovic came to Juventus as a big star, which of course he still is. However, it can be said that he has not fulfilled his potential at the Turin club, so there is speculation about his departure or replacement. The Serbian forward could go to Arsenal, but Juventus want the London superstar for him.
Dusan Vlahovic came to Juventus as a big star, which of course he still is. However, it can be said that he has not fulfilled his potential at the Turin club, so there is speculation about his departure or replacement. The Serbian forward could go to Arsenal, but Juventus want the London superstar for him.
Vlahovic joined Juventus at the end of January 2022, after a very successful season and a half. In fact, in the 2020/21 edition he scored 21 goals in 37 league games in a Fiorentina jersey, and in the next season he still managed to play 21 games for this team, in which he registered 17 goals.
In the rest of last season’s Serie A campaign, he started 15 games for Juventus in which he scored seven goals and assisted on one other.
He made two more starts and scored one goal in the Champions League. In the current season, Juventus have played a total of 15 games, Vlahovic also started 10 of them due to injury and scored 6 goals.
Especially in the Champions League, however, it was not a great success. Five games and only one accurate shot by Vlahovic. And considering that the 22-year-old Belgrade native is Juventus’ most expensive player, it is probably quite logical that the club’s management is willing to discuss possible options.
It should be added, Vlahovic will earn just under €13 million a year at Juventus under the current terms of his contract. His contract then expires in June 2026.
A swap to Arsenal?
So one of the aforementioned options is a swap to another club, and according to Calciomercato, it could be with Arsenal. In fact, according to these reports, coach Massimiliano Allegri would like to bring in Bukaya Saku. He should have a similar price tag to Vlahovic.
At the moment, however, the reaction of the London club’s management is rather cold. Moreover, in the January transfer window, a potential swap would also be very complicated.
Arsenal are the Premier League leaders and if they really want to win the title, the idea of selling one of their biggest stars is simply unrealistic.
And Juventus know this well. The Italian giant has already set a price for which Vlahovic could eventually leave. And it is 80 million euros.
