It is unlikely that 2023 will eclipse 2022 in Barcelona in terms of transfers. However, there could still be big transfers. Not much is expected to happen in January, with the Catalans already having to prepare closely for the summer transfer market.

Possible arrivals

Inigo Martinez (31, Athletic)
The central defender would be considered a solid addition to the squad. Moreover, he can already arrive as a free agent in the summer. Just to remind you, this Basque transferred to Athletic from Real Sociedad in January 2018 for an impressive amount of 32 million euros.

Youssoufa Moukoko (18, Borussia Dortmund)
Barcelona are interested in this 18-year-old striker. He will only go into a fierce battle if he does not extend his expiring contract at Borussia Dortmund. We are talking about one of the most talented striker on the transfer market.

Jorginho (31, Chelsea)
The Catalans have contacted Jorginho in previous years. Now his arrival is much more realistic, as his contract expires in the summer.

Ruben Neves (25, Wolves)
The Portuguese is considered by many as one of the favourites to succeed Sergio Busquets. Although Xavi himself has doubts about Neves’ qualities. He would cost the Barcelona club’s treasury at least €40 million.

Martin Zubimendi (23, Real Sociedad)
Is Xavi’s preferred option to strengthen the midfield. His arrival will be very difficult. This is because another possible successor to Busuquets has a buyout clause in his contract that amounts to €60 million.

Juan Foyth (24, Villarreal)
The right-back was very close to arriving in the Catalan capital last summer, but the whole transfer was frozen due to a serious injury. Foyth still remains an option for the future.

Diogo Dalot (23, Manchester United)
Another option to strengthen the right-back spot. The Blaugranas will go after Dalot if he becomes a free agent.

Possible departures

Hector Bellerin (27 years old)
We can only say with certainty that he won’t be going anywhere this winter. On the other hand, Barcelona are not planning to extend his contract after the season.

Sergio Busquets (34 years old)
The veteran hasn’t made up his mind about his future. Sergio wanted to leave at the end of the season, but now he is considering to extend his contract or finish it. The situation is open on all sides.

Memphis Depay (28 years old)
The Dutchman is expected to leave when his contract expires in July. After all, he also came to Barcelona from Lyon for free.

Franck Kessie (26 years old)
The midfielder is struggling to adapt at the Camp Nou. He came as a free agent and the club might decide to cash in some money for him in the summer. If only because of his low playing load.

Abde Ezzalzouli (21 years old)
The youngster will be sold if an adequate offer comes in for him. The transfer fee could be around 10 million euros. The club management does not see him as good enough for the first team.

Samuel Umtiti (29 years old)
The French stopper will be looking for a permanent exit next summer. There is no need to discuss this.

Raphinha (26 years old)
Barcelona are ready to sell the Brazilian winger after just one year in Catalonia. According to many, he is not living up to expectations. The transfer part of it also plays a significant role.
