The match against Volendam was a fatal one for Michal Sadilek. The 23-year-old midfielder, who has played for Slovácko, PSV and Slovan Liberec in the past, injured his groin and had to take a long break.
At first it looked like a few weeks, Sadílek himself told the fans this information. However, he did not play again in the autumn, his last appearance was at the end of August.
At the beginning of the year, however, he was no longer missing in the starting lineup against Emmen and even managed to score a goal, which was really hilarious.
He didn’t celebrate the goal properly, he fell to the ground in shock and gradually his teammates came running to him. After the game, he got a big round of applause and even a chant to welcome him back on the pitch.
After the game, he took to social media to explain why he was so moved. The injury took him down mentally, but he couldn’t have asked for a better return to the pitch.
“Honestly, the second half of 2022 was the hardest of my career. I was dealing with a non-football related injury without knowing the recovery time, which was devastating.
The moment I scored, all those emotions mixed and came out. I realised how much I missed football, and I want to thank Twente and my agency, NehodaSport, who provided a supportive environment and helped me get back on the pitch!” the young footballer wrote on his social networks.
