Lionel Messi was the best footballer at the last World Cup, where he won the trophy with Argentina and was also close to being the top scorer of the tournament.
He is now enjoying quite possibly the best time of his life, but he also has to deal with his future. His contract in Paris expires in the summer and there has been speculation that he has no plans to renew it.
But now the information is different. According to French newspaper Le Parisien, there is a verbal agreement between the club and the player to extend the contract.
So nothing has been signed yet, further on, the various pertinencies of the contract will be agreed. Thus, we will have to wait for an official announcement.
What is certain, however, is that Messi’s career will continue. After all, all the fans who watched the World Cup could see him in excellent form.
Nor is he going to end up in the national team. After winning the tournament, Messi said that he still wants to play with this team, so there will not be the perfect ending that many expected.
