The Slavs have played their final match of the Champions League group stage. The Sešivan footballers finally played in Eden, where a new turf was laid, but it did not bring any luck and AS Rome won 3:0.
For four matches in a row, the Slavs have not known the feeling of winning. In the final league match they surprisingly fell in Liberec, followed by the second half of the Champions League matches.
Unfortunately, the Sešivans were unable to turn their luck around in either game, first drawing with St. Polten and then recording a success by holding Wolfsburg to a goalless draw.
The final game against AS Rome didn’t solve anything, a win would have only put the Slavs in third place, which is nowhere to go. Nevertheless, the motivation was taken care of, as the match was played in Eden on the new turf.
However, the Italians were the better team from the first minutes. Thanks to goalkeeper Olivia Lukášová, the score changed only in the 31st minute. Twenty-eight-year-old forward Valentina Giacinti scored after a combination.
Six minutes later, however, it was even worse for the Slávists as Sweden’s Beata Kollmats headed home a corner kick and the Romans were already two goals up.
Shortly after returning to the field, Elena Linari scored in the second half after a direct kick and it was all over. Although there were several more chances, the score did not change and Slavia lost the last game.
They finished the group stage with two points and in last place. However, it must be said that the group was already a success and the group was really difficult.
