Patrik Schick’s career has been linked to injuries. The Czech striker has been suffering from them for many years, which is the reason why he is still not playing for a big club. Now it seems that he will have to have another surgery, which would be quite a big blow for him.

Patrik Schick was one of Leverkusen’s biggest draws last season. He was scoring goal after goal and it seemed like he might change destinations and make his way to one of the big clubs.

That hasn’t happened, probably because clubs are concerned about his health. And it’s no wonder, Schick didn’t start the final games due to another injury.

“We really wish he was here with us. We need him. But his health is not ideal. He doesn’t feel fit to train. We’ll see what the decision is in the end,” coach Xabi Alonso told Kicker.

Schick is scheduled for another examination on his left groin and everyone fears the worst. If it doesn’t go well, he will have to head for surgery and miss the first Bundesliga game in January.

“We need to find out what is best for Patrik. We plan to do everything we can to make sure he can play in Mönchengladbach,” said sporting director Simon Rolfes.

The national striker had his last surgery in May, which meant he was unable to help the national team in the Nations League, where Jan Kuchta shone.

Schick is now only training individually, but due to his health problems it would be surprising if his health holds out in the future and he lands some dream engagements.
