Blachowicz is waiting for Prochazka: He didn’t want to fight me, but I’m ready to challenge him when he gets better
This week was supposed to be a big one for Jiri Prochazka. He was about to make his first title defense in the UFC. But he got injured and neither he nor his challenger Glover Teixeira will be in action at UFC 282. Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev will battle for the title. The Polish fighter sent a message to the Moravian native.

Jiri Prochazka was supposed to defend his welterweight title this weekend when he was facing a rematch with Glover Teixeira. However, due to a serious shoulder injury, the Moravian fighter is unable to compete and the Brazilian will not appear at UFC 282.
The men who challenged Prochazka for the title will fight for the title. Namely, former champion Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev. Both will go into the fight with a lot of desire and motivation, with the Polish fighter already slowly grinding his teeth against the Moravian native.
“I want to fight Jiri. But he doesn’t want to fight me. He chose another fight, not me. So I’m ready for him when he gets better,” MMA Mania quotes Blachowicz.
It’s worth noting that Blachowicz was the first welterweight champion after the legendary Jon Jones relinquished the title and is expected to return to the UFC next year, albeit at heavyweight.
The Polish fighter has made no secret that he would like a fight with arguably the best fighter in history. But the scenario is the same as in the case of Prochazka.
“I would like to fight him, but he doesn’t want to fight me. Nobody knows what he’s doing right now. Like I said, I wanted to fight Prochazka, but he chose to fight back. Now he’s injured. It’s not my fault it got so bad,” said the Pole.
Blachowicz is eager to win the title he was robbed of by the aforementioned Teixeira. Now he wants to take the belt back, but he is not expecting an easy fight with Ankalaev.
