From a domestic perspective, UFC 282 was supposed to be Jiri Prochazka’s gala night. However, he was unable to join the fight due to injury and so we witnessed other interesting stories. One of them is written by only 18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr.

Unbelievable, unprecedented, extraordinary. Perhaps there are no other words to describe what Raul Rosas Jr., a native of California who celebrated his 18th birthday in October, has done and is proving.

At the age of 17, he was given the chance to fight for a UFC contract when he appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series in September, where he defeated the six-and-a-half-years-older Mando Gutierrez on points by unanimous decision.

Now he’s in Las Vegas for UFC 282. He closed the prelims card. Even before the fight, he showed that he has a lot of confidence and that he is not afraid to make interesting statements.

Rosas jokingly claimed at the press conference that his opponent Jay Perrin was a better Santa Claus than he was a fighter. So the 29-year-old Perrin went into the fight with a clear goal, to out-train the youngster.

But he didn’t succeed at all. Perrin has had two fights in the UFC, but he lost both of them, and now he’s lost for the third time. Rosas gave him no chance from the start.

Moreover, the talented youngster didn’t want to waste too much time in the cage and delivered two successful takedowns, he also attempted two submissions, the latter of which was the last thing that happened in the fight.

In fact, it was all over after two minutes and 44 seconds when Rosas successfully finished a rear-naked choke to increase his record to an incredible 7-0 at 18.
