Everybody knows who the champion is! Prochazka and his coach react to Blachowicz’s title fight with Ankalaev

Although he recently lost his hard-earned UFC welterweight title, one thing may have fixed the Moravian fighter’s appetite. His bout with Glover Teixeira has been hailed as the best fight of the year. And rightfully so.
Now that Jiri Prochazka is out of surgery, we all hope that he will be back in action as soon as possible. The UFC didn’t want him to block the division, which is the main reason why he is without a title. The whole situation has been much discussed.
However, there was nothing that could be done about it. Surprisingly, Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev were able to fight for the title. The slight favourite was the Dagestani, but the Pole won the first two rounds convincingly and got his opponent in trouble, especially with great leg kicks.
Ankalaev didn’t give up though and took the last two rounds for himself. The title bout, however, ended without a winner as one judge saw Blachowicz win, another saw Ankalaev win and a third even scored the fight a draw. So no one holds the title.
Of course, Prochazka was watching the match. On social media he put the adjective “title” in quotes, which of course questioned and reduced the value of this fight for the belt.
“We all know who the champion is. Just give me some time,” the Moravian fighter let himself be heard.
Martin Karaivanov didn’t miss the tournament either. Among other things, he questioned the performance of the referees at the tournament. It can be said that rightly so. But then he added a clear message: ” Jiri is a true champion.”
Let’s hope Procházka recovers as soon as possible so we can see him back in action soon.
