Fantasia! Krejcikova stepped on the world number one and dominated the tournament in Ostrava

Ostrava has had a spectacular tennis feast, which was also dominated by a local player! Barbora Krejčíková withstood all the crisis moments of the tournament and in the final stepped on the world number one.

The third edition of the tournament in Ostrava called Agel Open was a great success. Great attendance, participation of the world’s top female tennis players, attractive duels and the best at the end – the trophy was won by the home player.

Barbora Krejčíková is not having an easy season compared to last year. Right at the beginning of the season, she was struggling with an injury for a long time. Moreover, it took her some time to get into optimal shape.

However, she has been doing well in recent weeks. After she dominated the tournament in Tallinn, she can also enjoy the trophy in Ostrava, where she did not get it for free.

At the beginning of the tournament, Krejcikova defeated Shelby Rogers 2:0, while Belinda Bencic withdrew from the tournament before their match.

However, the Moravian native later came up against the talented Alycia Parks, who gave Krejcikova a hard time especially in the first set. In the end, however, she fell in two sets.

However, she fought a three-set battle in the last stages of the tournament. In the semi-finals she managed to turn around her battle with Elena Rybakina, taking the second set in a tiebreak, and she did the same against the world number one in the final.

Iga Swiatek is the most dominant player of our time. Thousands of Polish fans supported her in Ostrava. She is the world number one by right. And she looked it in the final.

She defeated Krejcikova 7:5 in the first set, but the second set went to a tiebreak, where the Moravian tennis player was more successful. The third set was calm and nerveless for the home player. She dominated it in the ratio 6::3 and can deservedly rejoice!

Krejcikova is the first ever home winner of the whole event.
