The MotoGP Royal Cubature had its fourteenth race of the season on Sunday, September 4, the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano. The race was dominated by Francesco Bagnaia on the factory Ducati, but the start of this race brought great drama!

The San Marino Grand Prix was eventually won by the Italian Bagnaia after a heart attack finish, but the start of the race itself brought great drama.

Three riders crashed in the first corner, namely Polo Espargar, Johann Zarco and Michel Pirro. All of these drivers ended their participation in the San Marino Grand Prix prematurely. You can see the dramatic start for yourself in the video below.

Jack Miller held on to first place despite Bastianini’s attack, while Bagnaia made a perfect start and moved up to third.

However, Miller did not hold his lead for long. On the second lap he made a mistake and closed the front end in turn 4, and the subsequent crash was inevitable.

Although the Australian racer then continued in the San Marino Grand Prix, he crossed the finish line eighteenth in the standings.

But that was far from all. Marco Bezzecchi, who currently defends the colours of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, also crashed on the same lap. After Saturday’s qualifying, he had a promising race ahead of him, starting the race from the third starting slot.

The 23-year-old Rimini native was unable to hold his bike in turn 10, but was able to continue the race. Although he did not score any more points in the race, he finished seventeenth, 50 seconds behind the winner of the San Marino Grand Prix.

To make matters worse, Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio also collided at turn four. Although the latter was able to continue the race, he finished the San Marino Grand Prix in 20th place. On the other hand, the Italian rider in the service of Yamaha had to retire early from the race.

After a total of seven riders crashed in the opening laps, three of them were still able to finish the race, albeit with a significant loss and zero points.
