The cars of the future? Take a look at what the new Formula E monoposts will look like

Very sharp shapes that are supposed to resemble fighter planes or fighters. Formula E is set for its sixth race of the season in Monaco, which is why the new designs have finally been revealed. However, apart from the design form, they also hide quite a few changes.

The new ABB FIA Formula E championship cars will replace this year’s next year, with the third generation of monoposts.

Once again, they will be designed to race primarily on city circuits and they hide some significant changes. In any case, you can check out the new design in the attached Twitter post below.

And this particular design was inspired by fighter planes. As a result, the monoblocs that Formula E fans will see in the 2022/23 season are meant to resemble fighter jets, mainly due to their sharp shapes.

However, these cars will be shorter than the current ones and will also be slightly lighter, namely by 60 kilograms.

One of the most significant changes is the increase in overall maximum power output, up to 600 kW. The new monoposts will also use a more efficient recuperation system, as Formula E has come up with a novelty regarding the reduction of the capacity of the battery itself.

Pilots will therefore use up to 40% of the propulsion power from the recuperation system. This will also take care of the rear axle braking, which in practice means that the rear wheels will not get brakes at all.

Now, on the weekend of 31 April, Formula E will be holding its sixth race of the season in Monaco. And it was on that occasion that the new design was unveiled, which, as we wrote above, is intended to serve primarily on city circuits in the 2022/23 edition.
