As early as last year, speculation began to swirl around Fabio Quartara that he might leave Yamaha and head elsewhere. However, these speculations began to grow after the recent Argentine Grand Prix, when the French rider himself was unable to refute them…

In MotoGP and motorsport in general, it’s no news that there is a lot of speculation about the future of individual riders. The rumours of the reigning world champion’s possible departure to another team are of even greater interest to the media around the world.

It should be noted that a number of drivers will be out of contract at the end of this year’s season, so it is possible that next year we will see significant changes in the starting field.

Apart from Quartara, a prime example is Ducati rider Jack Miller, who will almost certainly leave the factory team. One of the Jorge Martin – Enea Bastianini pairing is expected to join the Italian stable.

As for the Frenchman’s future, however, the rider himself is not entirely clear at the moment. Quartararo has already expressed his concerns about the development of the Yamaha YZR-M1 on more than one occasion during the current season, with poor top speed being the most serious issue in his opinion.

El Diablo also said after the Argentine Grand Prix that he definitely can’t fight for the title with such performance. In fact, Quartararo hasn’t been able to produce any very impressive results so far, apart from the race in Indonesia, where he finished second.

However, in the opening round of the new season in Qatar, he finished ninth on the results list, and last time in Argentina he finished eighth.

What team could he possibly wear in 2023? According to the latest information, Honda Repsol is very interested in Quartara. “I have to think about it carefully, my future is still unclear. It’s a decision that takes time. But it’s something to think about,” Quartararo said in an interview with Sky Sports Italia, quoted by the official MotoGP website.

As well as Honda, other teams have expressed interest in the talented French rider, including his current employer.

We will know the answer to the question of a potential transfer later in the year. However, if Yamaha does not improve its bike and Quartararo is unable to challenge for the world title again, his future will likely be decided, despite Yamaha’s efforts to retain the reigning champion.
