Kyle Berkshire is quite a well-known name in the golf world. He is not a player who wins tournament titles, but he is a renowned golfer.
It was Berkshire who managed to win the World Championship for the longest drive in 2019 and 2021. And he’s not slowing down now either, showing off an impressive stunt from his practice round on his Instagram.
That’s because his putt picked up a staggering speed of 234.4mph (377.2km/h). He thus broke his own record, which he increased by one mile per hour.
That’s an impressive speed. Especially when it was a practice series of launches, with Berkshire hitting over 150 in total. Forty-one times the launch speed exceeded 370 km/h.
“Set my new ball speed at 234.4 miles per hour. I got dangerously close to my goal of 160 mph club head speed as well, reaching 159 mph,” Berkshire wrote on his Instagram post.
It’s so clear that Berkshire is not willing to settle for his current record and is attacking an even higher number. How far can the launch speed go?
