Hope for Djokovic! Thanks to the changes to the arrangements, he could play at the French Open
It seems that the Australian Open scandal will not be repeated. Novak Djokovic, due to refusing the coronavirus vaccine, could not take part in the opening Grand Slam in Australia, but thanks to changes in the measures, he should get the green light for the French Open.
It seems that the Australian Open scandal will not be repeated. Novak Djokovic, due to refusing the coronavirus vaccine, could not take part in the opening Grand Slam in Australia, but thanks to changes in the measures, he should get the green light for the French Open.
In the world, the case has caused a great uproar. Novak Djokovic’s refusal to get the coronavirus vaccine has meant he should not have been able to attend the opening Grand Slam of the Australian Open.
The Serbian tennis player applied for an exemption, which was granted, but after a series of negotiations and behind-the-scenes battles, he was still denied access to Australia. Thus, the big tournament had to do without the world number one.
This did not change anything in the Serbian tennis player’s setup regarding vaccinations. Djokovic has thus already accepted the fact that he will have to miss some of the big tournaments, including the French Open.
But now hope has dawned for Djokovic. France is easing measures against coronavirus so that coronavirus vaccinations will no longer be required. For Djokovic, that means he could take part in the French Open, as well as the next big tournament, Monte Carlo.
This is certainly very good news for Djokovic. He will be defending his title in France and cannot afford another big loss like at the Australian Open. Even in Australia he had to defend his victory and lost a large number of points.
This deduction of points had the effect of changing the top spot in the ATP rankings for the first time in a very long time. Daniil Medvedev is the current world number one instead of Djokovic.
