American golfer Tiger Woods was inducted into the Ponte Vedra Beach Golf Hall of Fame. Susie Maxwell, designer Marion Hollins and former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchen also received this award.

He is arguably the most famous golfer in the world. Tiger Woods popularized the sport in an incredible way and for that he also received a great honor when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

“I just lost a bet with Steve Stricker that I wouldn’t cry, ” Tiger Woods said at the start of his speech.

Tiger Woods no longer appears on the PGA Tour’s most prestigious tournaments. The American golfer stopped playing at the highest level when he seriously injured his leg in a car accident last year.

Despite this, his name is constantly heard. He recently dominated the PGA Tour’s Player Impact rankings, which recognize players for their worldwide popularity and contributions to golf. Woods earned $8 million (about $183 million) by taking the top spot in this ranking.

This also shows how famous Tiger Woods is. There is perhaps not a single sportsman in the world who has not heard his name. And so, deservedly, he has now been inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame.

Tiger Woods won 82 PGA Tour tournaments in his career. He has dominated the prestigious majors 15 times.
