The new season of Moto GP is fast approaching and most teams have already revealed the new bikes for the 2022 season! In the last few hours, LCR Honda also joined the official unveiling, with their new bike offering an interesting colour combination.

We’ve written about the teams that unveiled new motorcycles for the 2022 season during January or February recently here, and also in this article.

All the teams are now joined by LCR Honda Castrol, headed by Alex Márquez. The stable has opted for a tri-colour combination right away, with the iconic colours of partner Castrol also an integral part of it.

As in the previous edition, Alex Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami will defend the team’s colours. The former made his Moto GP debut two years ago with the factory Honda team, but for 2021 he has moved to the non-factory LCR.

However, with a below-average bike, he finished the season in 16th position with 70 points, one place behind his teammate Nakagami, who managed to collect 76 points.

The younger of the Marquez brothers recorded his best result in the Portuguese Grand Prix, where he finished fourth, while Nakagami of Japan did the same in Spain.

What should be noted, however, is that Nakagami’s bike will be unveiled at a later date and will again be different in terms of colour combination. The reason is a different sponsor. The Japanese rider will be supported by Idemitsu.

LCR Honda debuted in Moto GP in 2006, with legendary Casey Stoner, who went on to win two World Championship titles in a factory Honda, getting his start with the non-factory brand.

LCR Honda’s wins came in 2016 (Czech Grand Prix) and 2018 (Argentine Grand Prix), when Briton Cal Crutchlow took the top spot.
