Djokovic is a lying bastard! A video of Australian reporters criticising the Serbian star has gone viral on the internet
There is no more high-profile case in the world right now than that of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic. Even some of the most famous reporters in Australia have expressed their opinion on the world number one, thinking the camera was off.
There is no more high-profile case in the world right now than that of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic. Even some of the most famous reporters in Australia have expressed their opinion on the world number one, thinking the camera was off.
It’s happened too many times. Reporters or commentators thought the camera was off so they could talk about whatever they wanted off the set. But the camera is still rolling and their private conversations are then leaked to the internet.
That’s exactly what’s happening in Australia right now. There is nothing but the Novak Djokovic case going on at the moment. He was facing deportation for entering the country without vaccinations, but in the end it looks like he and his lawyers have won the Australian Open.
Much to the chagrin of all Australians. They had some of the strictest conditions and they saw no reason why a well-known person should have exceptions. Djokovic didn’t help his case either when he soon remembered that he had contracted coronavirus in December, but two days later he was among the people at an event taking photos. He commented on it in a way that it was a mistake, but he didn’t want to cancel the event anymore and was wearing a veil the whole time.
Rebecca Maddern and Mike Amor, two of the country’s best known reporters, expressed their views in the studios of 7news Melbourne. Only they thought they were only talking to each other, but the camera was still rolling and their conversation later went viral on the internet, where it circulated around the world at speed.
The reporters called Djokovic a “lying, sneaky bastard,” and they certainly didn’t leave him out of the loop. A transcript of the entire conversation can be found below the video.
Rebecca Maddern: “Whichever way you look at it, Novak Djokovic is a lying, sneaky bastard.”
Mike Amor: “He’s an asshole.”
RM:: “Whichever way you look at it, it’s unfortunate that everyone around him is blaming each other.”
MA:: “It’s true. He’s really a bastard.”
MA: “He’ll come up with a bullshit excuse and then fall for his own bullshit lies. That’s exactly what happened.”
RM:: “Yeah. And suddenly he’ll be ticking off that he wasn’t in Spain.”
MA: “Exactly.”
RM: “It’s just…”
MA:: “I think he’ll get away with it.”
RM:: “Of course. He’ll get away with it. “
MA:: “I think most normal-minded people would say “Look, the guy’s a bastard”. Do they think they did the right thing? I don’t know.”
RM:: “No, I don’t think so.”
MA: “They [bleeped] it up. That’s the problem, isn’t it?”
RM:: “I don’t think so. I don’t think they gained anything by putting him in an immigration hotel.”
MA:: “No, but the problem is how do you justify a man who is on the same flight as him and also has…”
RM:: “You can’t justify it, but the fact is that life isn’t fair.”
MA:: “Exactly.”
RM: “Some people fly first class and some people… you know, it’s never fair.”
MA:: “Exactly. But the poor Czech girl was sent home. She was hunted down and sent home.”
But the reporters have only gone up in the eyes of Australian fans. The overwhelming majority have the same view of the situation as they do.
