Great! Krejcikova gets caned in the first set, but will still play for the title in Sydney before the Australian Open

Barbora Krejčíková did not manage to finish her otherwise extremely successful year, but she is now making up for it in Australia. She will play the final in Sydney.
The Moravian tennis player had a great year in 2021, winning the fourth place in the WTA ranking with her great performances.
Despite finishing the year with eight straight defeats, it was clear that Barbora Krejcikova was exhausted and needed a break. She got it after the Champions Tournament and is now back in shape after two months.
Next week she will be at the Australian Open, which she will start in great form, and she may have a lot of confidence to boot. She reached the final at Sydney.
First, Krejcikova handled the Romanian Jaqueline Adina Cristian quite handily, then a little over an hour was enough for her to win against Caroline Garcia, whom she even gave a canary in the first set.
However, the first big test came in the semi-finals. The opponent of the Moravian tennis player was Anett Kontaveit, currently seventh in the WTA world rankings.
Krejcikova did not start the match well at all. In the first set she got a canard, but in the next two she picked herself up and managed to win. She won the second set 6:4, and the third set was won in a tie-break.
The duel lasted two and a half hours. In the final, our tennis player will face Daria Kasatkina or Paula Badosa Gibert.
Let’s hope that Krejcikova’s form will last at the Australian Open.
