Beautiful! M-Sport Ford and Toyota have revealed the shape of their cars for the new season. Do you like it?

On Saturday 15 September, the new WRC season was officially launched. The teams presented their new cars, which are also entering a new hybrid era. You can see what the cars look like for yourself.

The M-Sport Ford Puma team undoubtedly has the boldest and most obvious colours on its car. They have chosen a combination of a very striking purple colour scheme flanked by a traditional blue scheme for their journey into the new hybrid era.

M-Sport was also the first of the three manufacturers to showcase its Rally1 prototype for the upcoming season. This was at last year’s Goodwood Festival, since when the new car has undergone a series of rigorous tests to ensure it is ready for the new WRC season.

The final version was then unveiled at the official season launch, which was scheduled for that very day on 15 January, with new President Mohammed Ben Sulayem in attendance.

In the post below you can also see the new livery of the Toyota Gazoo Racing team (right). However, the first team to come up with a new livery is Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT, whose representatives revealed the new livery about seven days back.

The 2022 season promises to be a truly unmissable spectacle for fans of the sport. In fact, several drivers can fight for the title, and thanks to the new regulations, any of these three teams can come to the fore.

The new regulations have led to Hyundai, Toyota and M-Sport Ford designing and building completely new cars from the ground up.

The biggest change then is the introduction of a 100kW hybrid powertrain with a 1.6-litre turbocharged internal combustion engine, the only key component carried over from the previous generation of cars. Drivers will therefore have to use the hybrid powertrain during every stage.

For added safety, the cars also have a new steel chassis, which will increase the weight of each car by around 70kg.

The new edition will kick off with the traditional Monte-Carlo Rally, specifically on Thursday 20 February.
