The fourth edition of the Next Generation ATP Finals will culminate on Saturday night. In the finals, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and American with Czech roots Sebastian Korda will face each other. Who will lift the trophy above their heads?
Carlos Alcaraz is an 18-year-old tennis player originally from Spain. He is currently ranked 32nd in the ATP rankings, which is also his career high. At the same time, he is expected to become world number one in the future.
He is showing great performances in the Milan tournament so far. In the group stage, he defeated both Rune and Nakashima without losing a single set. In his last match he faced Cerundolo, whom he defeated 3:1.
In the semi-finals, he met the Argentine tennis player Sebastian Baez. However, the arguably biggest rising star of men’s tennis allowed him only five games in total, forcing him to retire from the tournament.
Sebastian Korda also reached the final. The twenty-one-year-old American is currently ranked 39th on the ATP rankings. However, his career high is 38th place from October this year.
Also Korda has not experienced the bitterness of defeat in Milan so far. However, his journey has been a bit more thorny, as he has had to turn around an unfavourable result twice already. However, he managed to do it with Gaston and Nakashima and will deservedly play in the final.
