Räikkönen will not take part in the Dutch Grand Prix! A positive test is to blame. Who will replace him?

One very unpleasant matter now has to be dealt with by Kimi Räikkönen. The Finnish legend, who announced the end of his active career a few days ago, tested positive for the coronavirus. He will be replaced for the rest of the race weekend by a familiar name.

So far, Kimi Räikkönen has completed both Friday practice sessions in the Netherlands, but he was unable to take part in Saturday’s practice due to a positive test for covid-19.

The forty-one-year-old driver for the Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen team is now isolated in his hotel room. However, his team representatives have issued a statement saying Räikkönen is showing no symptoms and is in good spirits.

He has therefore already been replaced for Saturday’s third practice session by Robert Kubica, the Polish driver who has previously linked his career with the likes of Williams and BMW Sauber.

He is currently a test and reserve driver for Alfa Romeo in Formula 1. Naturally, however, his first performance was less than stunning, with Kubica finishing nineteenth in FP3.

Saturday morning’s practice was dominated by Max Verstappen, with Valtteri Bottas finishing second and Lewis Hamilton third. Qualifying for Sunday’s race will start at 15:00 and with the way the race weekend has gone so far, we have a lot to look forward to!
