Italy is the fourteenth destination to be visited on the F1 World Championship calendar. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza, as the official name of the circuit goes, may only consist of eleven corners, but it is an extremely fast track.
F1 cars first visited the circuit back in 1921, and the official F1 World Championship has been running at Monza since its inception in 1950. The race track also offers two DRS zones for easier overtaking. The first detection point is located at the entrance to Turn 7, the second can be found before Turn 11.
The track is 5.793 km long. Drivers will cover more than 306 kilometres in 53 laps. Rubens Barrichello’s fastest lap since 2004 has never been bettered! In his Ferrari, he set a fantastic time of 1:21.046.

The Italian Grand Prix is the second venue to see the new format of the race weekend. Friday will kick things off with the opening practice session on Friday, but after that it will be qualifying which will determine the order for the start of Saturday’s qualifying sprint.
Before that sprint, of course, there will be a second practice session. And of course we will see the biggest spectacle on Sunday for the main race. The race weekend in Monza is scheduled for 10-12 September 2021.
