The last Czech representative at the WTA tournament in Dubai is Barbora Krejcikova. She will face Anastasia Potapova in the quarterfinals. Who will be happy to advance to the semifinals?
Barbora Krejcikova is ranked 63rd in the WTA rankings. However, she has been performing very well this season, building on her finish last year. She has been using her doubles experience quite often, where she was the world number one.
At the Dubai event she defeated Maria Sakkari, Jelena Ostapenko and Svetlana Kuznetsova. She won all her duels 2:0. If she manages to advance to the quarterfinals, it would put her in the top 50 of the WTA rankings for the first time ever.
But Thursday will not be easy for her. She will face 19-year-old Russian Anastasia Potapova, one of the biggest rising stars in women’s tennis.
She defeated Laura Siegemund, Madison Keys and Belinda Bencic on the hard surface in Dubai. However, she spent almost an hour more on court than her next opponent.
So what’s your bet? Barbora Krejcikova is the slight favourite for the match and she is probably in the form of her life. You can bet on her victory at odds of 1.81.
However, we can expect an even match in which the charge of coach Iain Hughes will not give the Czech for free. The odds are 2.31 that the match will have to be decided in the third set.
