Linda Fruhvirtová is only 15 years old Czech tennis player. However, on Monday she will play in Charleston, the biggest tournament of her career so far.
Linda Fruhvirtová was born on May 1, 2005. Despite that, she has already played her first matches among adults. She’s even managed to dominate two ITF tournaments.
That’s also why she received a wild card from the organizers of the clay tournament in Charleston. In her career so far, she has only been to a WTA 250 tournament once, last year in Prague.
That time, she fell to Kristyna Pliskova in the opening round. Now the draw was no more favourable. On Monday, the 15-year-old Czech will play French number four Alize Cornet.
If Linda Fruhvirtova had managed to win, she would have made a significant move in the WTA rankings. She is currently ranked 500th with 84 points. The points gaps are very small at these levels.
In case of a victory, the Czech comet could face Tereza Martinsova in the second round. On Monday, she will face Emma Navarova, the 481st player in the rankings. You will be able to watch the tournament on O2 TV Tennis.
