The Czech national football team managed a compulsory victory over the Faroe Islands, winning 5: 0. Mojmír Chytil helped his team with a hat-trick on his debut, and coach Jaroslav Šilhavy did not hide his smile at the press conference.
The Czech national football team played a friendly match with the Faroe Islands in Olomouc. The line-up was combined, due to the boycott of several teams, coach Jaroslav Šilhavý had to call up several newcomers.
Among them was Mojmír Chytil, who was the man of the match. The young striker from Olomouc Sigma scored a hat-trick within ten minutes and will probably never forget the match for the rest of his life.
Then Václav Černý and Fabrizio Stronati scored and at the end of the match the score was 5:0, which perfectly describes the action on the pitch.
“I must praise the boys. Despite everything that preceded the match, it turned out great. The boys played with desire and commitment. What we promised, we delivered.
We scored five goals and I think the game had a lot of momentum and energy and I’m glad for that, of course,” said coach Jaroslav Šilhavý at the press conference, who was criticized before the game for selecting a lineup that had an average age of over 27.
The Czech coach naturally spoke about Chytil. “He did well. There are very few players who have such a debut in which they score three goals. We are happy that he did it like that,” he added.
We did an extensive interview with Chytil on our website before the game, which you can either read on our website or listen to as a podcast.
The Czech national football team will now move to Turkey for another friendly match. The line-up is expected to be significantly changed from Wednesday’s.
