The star of the Korean national team, Heung-Min Son, didn’t show much in the first game, now it’s his time, it will be about to advance from the group.
The Koreans couldn’t get past the strong Uruguayan defence in the first game and drew 0:0. The defence, consisting of five players with the name Kim, looked great, they left no space for Nunez and Suárez and they were helpless against the ferocious Koreans.
Ghana, on the other hand, were not at their best, they got three goals from Portugal and it was clear that they have a lot of catching up to do at the back. Be it their frequent fouls or their misplaced passes at the start of the action.
The trio of Partey, Kudus, Ayew looked excellent against the Iberian team. Kudus was running away from defenders and finding key passes. The African players failed to take advantage of them and therefore couldn’t get a point.
Preview and betting tips
A sympathetic performance from Ghana’s three best players should not be enough in the duel with South Korea. The South Koreans looked more combative and confident in the first round and they will definitely want to build on that trend.
It should not be difficult for the Koreans to get past Ghana’s defence. Ghana’s weak right side, led by Abdul Rahman Baba, should be what tips the scales in the Koreans’ favour. They didn’t show much going forward against Uruguay and have their weapons ready for the match against Ghana.
