The rematch of Jiri Prochazka’s title fight with Glover Teixeira is approaching fast. Their welterweight clash will take place on December 10 and they have already had their first staredown! What did they say to each other at the fight?
Their first fight ended with Jiri Prochazka winning. He came close to losing on points, but eventually finished the Brazilian in the last round.
Five months had passed since the fight and Procházka flew to New York for media duties. He even had his first staredown with his opponent in one of the most famous cities in the world.
As expected, it went off without a hitch, the fighters respect each other and nothing should happen in the future. However, we did see a little trashtalk.
“You lost your hair and that’s how you lost your power,” said Glover Teixeira to the Czech champion. But he quickly replied, “ Or I took my power back.”
The Czech fighter will now move to Las Vegas to continue his tough training. The Brazilian, on the other hand, will remain in New York for the time being, supporting his charge Alex Pereira.
Procházka was at the airport before his departure answering numerous questions from reporters. According to him, the two-month preparation is ideal and this time suits him perfectly.
Many fighters have helped him in his preparation, among the most famous ones are Patrik Kincl, who is preparing for Karlos Vemola, and also the huge Daniel Škvor.
A rematch of the welterweight title fight between Prochazka and Teixeira is scheduled for December 10 at UFC 282. We’ll see it in our area in the early hours of Sunday the 11th.
