Jiri Prochazka is in full preparation for his title defence of the welterweight belt, he will fight again with Brazilian Glover Teixeira. What did UFC boss Dana White say about the Czech fighter?
Almost five months ago the Czech public rejoiced at the huge success of Jiri Prochazka. He won the UFC title when he managed to defeat veteran Glover Teixeira.
The latter was close to winning on points, but Procházka found the inner strength within himself and finally managed to finish him. Even with such an evenly matched fight, he decided to give the Brazilian a rematch.
That will happen on December 10 at UFC 282. Now we will see both fighters more and more often on TV and the internet will be full of them, once again it will be one of the biggest MMA fights in Czech history.
Now the Czech champion has been talked about by UFC boss Dana White himself, who even outlined what he would like a title defence to look like.
“What do I think about Jiri Prochazka? I think he’s an amazing fighter. I love him,” he said at a press conference for domestic MMA website Shorties.
“What do I expect from the rematch? Well, the first fight was a hell of a fight. It was up and down for both fighters. Just when you thought one was going to win, there was a reversal and vice versa. It kept spilling over to see who had the upper hand.
That fight could have gone either way. Itwas a great fight and I just hope the rematch is much the same,“ added White, who has been criticized recently for the conditions of the fighters.
He’s been in the sport mainly with YouTuber and now successful boxer Jake Paul. He says he is trying to ensure that fighters not only have better financial conditions, but especially health ones.
