We spent $100 million on this? The fans don’t understand, even the coach shakes his head. Look at Antony’s charade

Not only Cristiano Ronaldo, but Erik ten Hag will now have to cool down his other player, whom he also brought to Old Trafford himself. Antony is really technically well equipped, he is a Brazilian after all, but sometimes his parries are too much. However, almost nobody has any understanding of his stunts.

When Antony moved to Manchester United for €95 million in the summer, everyone wondered if he would follow in the footsteps of Memphis Depay. The 172 cm tall winger with a brilliant left foot caught on almost immediately in the Premier League, however, scoring goals in all three of his first games.

However, after a very short while he started to add some parades, which unfortunately are not very effective, even though the fans might like them. You have probably all had a chance to see his twisting of his feet over the ball, which certainly doesn’t confuse the opposing defender.

However, he took his skills even further in Thursday’s game against Sheriff Tiraspol when he made not one, but two turns after a pass and then sent an inaccurate pass to his teammate.

The effect? None, immediately afterwards an avalanche of discontent erupted as uncomprehending Manchester United fans filled social media with incomprehensible posts. Not even the coach, ten Hag, whose face showed only one thing.

Just like he did with Ronaldo a few days ago, the Dutch coach will have a conversation with Antony about his antics. For those, by the way, not only the fans but also the experts in the studio hit him. Paul Scholes even called the 22-year-old Brazilian a clown.

However, the former outstanding midfielder has no sympathy for his antics since the beginning, pointing out that he was already showing off like that at Ajax.

Many fans then questioned on social media whether the 100 million was paid for these circus acts.

Antony was substituted after half-time and replaced by Marcus Rashford. The reason? I’m sure every one of you can find one.

Antony is a great talent and one of United’s best players in the current Premier League season. But managing his ego will probably be the toughest nut to crack. However, the Hag seems very confident and handled Ronaldo with ease, so hopefully for the club’s benefit the young Brazilian can too.
