Juventus Torino have another Champions League group stage match on the schedule today, Tuesday 11 October, when they travel to Maccabi Haifa. And after the first half, the Italian giant was already down 0:2. Both goals were scored by midfielder Omer Atzili, with the second one coming after a really good action.
The fans didn’t have to wait too long for the first goal of the match between Maccabi Haifa and Juventus. Twenty-nine-year-old Atzili opened the scoring in the seventh minute.
And that was far from all, the Israeli team entered the match really actively, while Juventus, at least in the beginning, seemed not to know what to play on Maccabi Haifa’s ground.
Coach Bakhar’s charges had two more decent opportunities in the following minutes, when Tjarron Chery hit the crossbar from a direct kick in the 12th minute. Atzili’s shot from just outside the box was saved by Wojciech Szczesny a minute later.
After that, Juventus managed to get into the game, but it didn’t lead to any serious chances. On the other hand, the home team created more chances.
They could have scored many more goals in the first half than the number of goals that were on the scoreboard after the first half.
In fact, Maccabi Haifa scored a second goal in the 42nd minute, with midfielder Atzili scoring again. You can see his next shot in the video below.
It’s currently the 70th minute in Haifa and Juventus still haven’t managed to score. It can even be said that the home team is outplaying the Italian side. However, this is not at all ideal for Allegri’s charges as they fight to advance to the next stage of the competition.
