We got hammered, but it was against Bayern Munich, and that happened to better teams, Kopic said
Bayern were in over their heads. From the first minute, Viktoria Plzeň’s players could not keep up with the pace of the Bavarian team, who scored five goals in the whole match. The first point in the Champions League group stage is still awaited. What did Jan Kopic say at the press conference?

As expected, Viktoria Plzeň fell to Bayern Munich 0:5 at the Allianz Arena. Leroy Sané, Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mané and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored twice for the home team.
“It is difficult to get to such players. They have a great first touch with the ball, they are quick and have a brilliant footballing mindset. All this, when combined, makes it terribly difficult to do anything with them.
We took a beating, but it was against Bayern Munich, and that has happened to better teams,” winger Jan Kopic said at a press conference. He returned from a lengthy injury and went straight into the starting lineup.
“Nothing easy. Bayern showed their extra class. They gave us two goals from their first two shots and it was just a bigger weight class. I will remember this for the rest of my life.
With the bitter aftertaste of the five goals we conceded, but I’m grateful that we were able to play here. We all worked so hard for this and deservedly we are now playing the toughest group in the Champions League,” he added.
With 0 points in the table, Plzen is in last place and will have a chance to repeat in the next three games. But now they need to refocus back on the league, with Viktoria playing at home to Mlada Boleslav on Saturday.
