French legend fires at Mbappé! You’re annoying everyone. Solve your problems and grow up, the club is more than a player, he tells the PSG star
Kylian Mbappé is having a controversial season. He has been scoring goals, but he hasn’t been at his best in games. There is a lot of media coverage of his behaviour. Now a legend of French football has spoken out against him, and very critically.
Kylian Mbappé is having a controversial season. He has been scoring goals, but he hasn’t been at his best in games. There is a lot of media coverage of his behaviour. Now a legend of French football has spoken out against him, and very critically.
12 competitive games, 11 goals, but unusually not a single assist. That is Kylian Mbappé’s record this season. These are not bad numbers, but the fact is that the French star is not giving the performances that are expected of him.
Virtually every week, the French and European media discuss the behaviour of a player who currently boasts the best wage in the football world. He often shows his frustration and dissatisfaction. He did so after the last PSG game when he took a second swipe at coach Christophe Galtier.
French legend Emmanuel Petit, who has played for Monaco, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, has now commented on the situation. He believes Mbappé is increasingly handling things off the pitch.
So he is sending him a clear message – to grow up. “You get promises that usually nobody keeps. But that doesn’t mean you stop working and question everything. That’s everyday life, adult life. The sooner you grow up and sort out your problems, the sooner your performance, public relations and teammates will improve,” Foot Mercato quoted Petit as saying.
According to Petit, Mbappé is now just annoying everyone, especially with how he takes everything personally and that he elevates himself above the club. “Has fame gone to his head? At PSG they must have promised him that they would build a whole project around his person. Kylian, at Monaco you started in a completely different way,” he recalls.
The 1998 world champion noted, among other things, that the club is more important than any player. Mbappé’s behaviours are irrelevant, according to him, and only show a lack of respect for the club and his teammates. He then described his behaviour towards the coach as disgraceful.
