Michal Martínek defeated Filip Stawowy in June and now KSW gave him another tough challenge. In October, he will take on 40-year-old UFC veteran Daniel Omielanczuk, who has also been in the ACA for a long time.
Michal Martinek was the heavyweight champion of the Octagon organization, while he was given the opportunity to fight for a contract in the UFC. However, in the summer of 2019, he lost to Rodrigo Nascimento and the dream vanished.
Since 2020, however, the experienced fighter fought under the banner of the Russian ACA, where he scored one win and two defeats. Since the beginning of the war, he declared that he didn’t want to wrestle in Russia and eventually moved to KSW.
He made his debut there, defeating Filip Stawowy at KSW 71. Now he has a new challenge ahead of him, he will challenge the UFC veteran at the KSW 75 gala event in the middle of next month.
His opponent will be 40-year-old Pole Daniel Omielanczuk, who has been fighting in the UFC since 2013. He retired from the organization in 2017 and then moved to ACB (now ACA).
His streak is 25-13, with a draw and one fight being scored as a NC. Although he is indeed a tough opponent, he is not in form. He has lost his last three games, with his last win coming last April.
“Nobody wants to have four losses, we are counting on the best possible version of him. Plus, he will be in front of his crowd. It will be an all-round fight, but my meta is to beat Omielanczuk and claim the title,” Martinek told iSport.
