Real Madrid host Mallorca in the 5th round of the Spanish top flight. After the first half, the score was 1-1, with a wonderful goal scored by Federico Valverde at the end of the first act!
Madrid entered the match with Mallorca very actively and created several chances and shooting attempts from the very beginning.
This is also evidenced by the statistics of the first half. Real Madrid was more often on the ball, because the statistics of ball possession spoke clearly for Real players (71% vs. 29%). The Royal team sent 15 shots at Mallorca’s goal, but only 4 of them went between the three bars.
Despite this dominance, the visitors scored the first goal. Vedat Muriqi took a great centre in the penalty area and sent the ball under the top bar with his head – 0::1.
Four minutes later, Vinicius Junior went down after a tackle, but the referee did not call a potential penalty kick.
The fans did not see the goal until the first half. Valverde got rid of several players in the middle of the pitch and finished his individual action with a beautiful goal.
Real Madrid clearly got more out of the game in the second half, although in the 65th minute, the visiting Antonio Sanchez burned a huge chance. After a perfect pass, he was able to finish in the penalty area, but sent his attempt just wide of the left post.
However, Valverde scored his second goal in the 72nd minute. Rodrygo had the assist, sending a cross into the box to Valverde, who then made no mistake. The 75th minute is now running in Madrid and the White Ballet are leading 2-1.
