Martial arts is on the rise. But unfortunately, fighters and especially female fighters don’t earn enough to pursue their beloved sport to the fullest. However, a few women decided to take the step that allowed them to do so.

Thanks to the rise of the OnlyFans platform, some female combat sports stars have started to earn so much money that they don’t actually need to fight anymore. Case in point is star Paige VanZant, who used to be in the UFC and now does whatever she wants. She even has her own website.

Taylor Starling, 26, is following the same path, shining in the BKFC organization, which is gaining in popularity. Thanks in part to VanZant fighting there. The talented fighter is 3-0 in the organization and has a title fight coming up.

Before that, however, she’s dealing with criticism. It’s because of her own website, where she offers exclusive content for money. But that way she doesn’t have to do any other work and can concentrate on training and fighting.

“If you don’t pay my bills and feed my kids, your opinion means nothing to me. Before starting this site, I worked full time and had two part time jobs. I had to work on weekends and I managed to find time to train here and there,” Starling explained the recent crisis to MMA Fighting.

I never wanted anything like this, Starling says

the 26-year-old American admits that setting up OnlyFans or having her own site with similar content wasn’t exactly what she wanted. But she wants to make her dreams come true and this was the way to do it.

Besides, she adds that sites like this don’t necessarily have to be about sexual content, “People think it’s just selling nude photos and stuff, but you can have much more personal conversations with your fans there. There are also people there who just want to say hi and get a response, because Instagram and Facebook filter messages a lot.”

Starling admits that she sometimes thinks about not wanting to do things like this at night. It’s just that a lot of people have this idea that being a professional fighter means being a millionaire.

As she admits, it bothered her a year ago when she started her site. But now she’s dealing with it better. She can fight and take care of her children. Plus, it’s the contact with her fans that she sees as a positive and worthwhile thing. Even though she says it’s like another full-time job.
