Famous highkick! Usman can forget about Walk. This is how Edwards took his belt and dominance away from him
Kamaru Usman was still the undisputed No. 1 welterweight in the UFC on Saturday, but he also topped the P4P rankings for best fighter across all categories. That he should lose to Leon Edwards? Almost no one thought so. Usman himself has probably already seen a fight with Jiri Prochazka. But everything would be different.

The Nigerian nightmare had another fight on Sunday morning. Kamaru Usman hasn’t lost in the UFC yet. Nor has anyone ever taken him down with a takedown. Never in his career has a champion been knocked out. But that’s all changed.
In the first round, Leon Edwards surprised Usman and delivered a successful takedown. He even threatened to deploy a rear-naked choke. But Usman defended everything. He then took the reins of the fight and dominated every round. Including the fifth.
But with a minute to go, it came as a shock. Edwards landed a hell of a high kick that even Usman hadn’t counted on. He was obviously preparing for a round kick. And he didn’t stop the perfectly placed kick and went down.
He could have made history. Usman, if he wins, would tie Anderson Silva’s record for most wins in a row in the UFC. He was getting ready for a title fight in another weight class anyway. And two weight classes up.
Usman has let it be known more than once that he’s confident in the welterweight division. In recent days and weeks, there has been a lot of talk about a potential fight with Jiri Prochazka. But now he has to think differently.
Another fight with Edwards will definitely be in the cards. Usman was better in the fight and more or less everyone was already counting on him to win the fight on points. That didn’t happen.
