Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona: Preview and betting tips
Barcelona will be aiming for their first league win of the season on Sunday, travelling to Real Sociedad, who unlike them managed to win the opening round. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Barcelona will be aiming for their first league win of the season on Sunday, travelling to Real Sociedad, who unlike them managed to win the opening round. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Sociedad entered the season with a league win over Cadiz, but the end of their preparation didn’t go well, losing twice. Last year they finished sixth, so this year they will play in the Europa League.
Barcelona, on the other hand, did well in their preparation, even beating Real Madrid, but their league debut was not as successful. At the Camp Nou, they played a disgraceful goalless draw with Vallecano, and Sergio Busquets was sent off in the set-up.
On the home side, it was Mikel Oyarzabal who was on fire last season, the Spanish international netting fifteen goals.
Winger and former great talent Adnan Januzaj opened the net eight times and assisted six times. Manchester City icon David Silva is also a big name in the home jersey.
In the away jersey, much is expected from reinforcement and the best spearhead striker of the last five years, Robert Lewandowski. Last year, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was the team’s top scorer, he managed to score thirteen goals in six months at the club.
Sociedad have been unsuccessful in attack, scoring more than once in only one of their last seven games.
Barcelona, on the other hand, are firing, scoring more than once in four of their last six games.
Given the poor form of Sociedad’s attack, I think Barcelona will win.
